We are constantly looking for new ways to support all our students beyond the classroom, and to provide information to help parents understand curriculum demands, so they can support their child. We regularly update this page with links to further resources or helpful sites for students.

PRIMARY SUPPORT

We encourage parents to enrol their children from Year 3. This allows us to support their understanding in Numeracy and Literacy as they progress through KS2 and on to secondary school. Children in Year 3 and 4 who attend the bespoke learning centre at Success Tuition also have access to our 11+ Portal. This provides opportunities for children planning to sit the Kent or Medway Test to practise questions, and also allows parents to assess the suitability of their child to do this.

11+ SUPPORT

Please see our Portal for tests to support your child’s development in Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, English and Mathematics.

KS3 SUPPORT

At KS3, we support students to achieve successful progression to GCSE. For some children, this means work which stretches and challenges them and prepares them for the syllabus and assessment processes at GCSE. For others, we can provide catch-up support, to ensure they are well-prepared to commence these qualifications, without being at a disadvantage to their peers. We will set additional work for students to complete at home, in order to consolidate their learning and allow us to check their progress.

GCSE

At GCSE it is important that students know about the specific examination boards for each of their subjects. Some of the most popular examination boards are AQA, OCR and Edexcel.

Although students will be marked on the same skills (assessment objectives), the examination papers will be laid out differently and the mark schemes will vary.   You will find details of the examination boards for each subject your child is doing at GCSE on their school’s website.  Use the links to find out about:

  • Examination papers your child will sit;
  • How they will be marked.

In addition to these sites, there are many others which offer excellent support to GCSE students.  One of the most well-known is GCSE Bitesize, which covers all GCSE subjects, and also all the individual texts which your child might study for English Literature.
